The EASA Conversion program aims directly for non-EASA license holders who have completed a commercial pilot program (FAA or other ICAO country) and wishes to convert his or her Commercial Pilot License to a EASA license. 

The training includes 9 months of full time ATPL-theory classroom studies followed by practical flight training and a skill test.

Overview

The EASA Conversion program aims directly for non-EASA license holders whom have completed a commercial pilot program (FAA or other ICAO country) and wishes to convert his or her Commercial Pilot License to a EASA license. The training includes 9 months of full time ATPL-theory classroom studies followed by practical flight training, approximately 15-20 hours which can take up to 6 weeks to complete.
Our instructors are highly qualified and experienced airline pilots. We have one of the highest percentages of airline experience divided amongst our instructors. This is a key factor for ensuring that our programs are up to date, meeting standards and requirements in a changing aviation industry.

Course Details

Our EASA Conversion course has been designed to assist non-EASA license holders to easily convert their license and ratings according to EASA regulations. Scandinavian Aerospace Academy EASA conversion course consists of both the theoretical training including ATPL-theory and the practical training required to issue an EASA license.

The EASA Conversion course consists of the following phases:

  • ATPL-theory, 13 subjects
  • Multi-Engine Piston Land Class Rating theory
  • DA42 Simulator training
  • DA42 Aircraft training

Pre-Entry Requirements

In order to be eligible for the EASA Conversion Program you need to fulfill all the requirements listed below:
Medical Certificate

Valid Medical Class 1 is required prior to starting your training. Medical Class 1 will be accepted from any EASA country. Do you need more information about obtaining an EASA Medical Class 1? Contact us.

License and Ratings

Prior to the start of your training you will need to have a valid CPL with Multi-Engine Piston Land (MEPL) rating and a valid Instrument Rating Multi-Engine (IR ME) in order to convert your existing license and ratings to EASA. We recommend all students to renew or revalidate the above mentioned license and ratings just before the start of your training.

Language Proficiency

In order to issue an EASA license you will need to obtain a language proficiency level which follows the ICAO standard. The minimum level required to start your training is English level 4 (4 out of 6).

* If you’re residing outside of the European Union (EU) you will require a student visa to Sweden, this can be administrated by us and for this service we charge 2500 EUR.

The prices listed above are the only fees associated with your training, what you see is what you get, simple as that. We don’t have any hidden fees or extra costs that will be added during the course, you pay for your training as you get it.
