Stockholm – 2023-01-04 – Stoflight Academy is pleased to announce that it has been acquired by Norwegian largest onshore helicopter company, Helitrans AS, and will be rebranded as Scandinavian Aerospace Academy.
The new ownership team brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the aviation and aerospace industries and is committed to building upon the strong foundation and reputation that Stoflight Academy has established over the years.
“We are excited to take the reins at Scandinavian Aerospace Academy and build upon the great work that has already been done,” said Ole Christian Melhus, CEO of Helitrans and Scandinavian Aerospace Academy. “We believe that this is a fantastic opportunity to further grow and develop the company, and we are committed to providing our students with the highest quality education and training in the field of aviation and aerospace.”
In addition to the name change, Scandinavian Aerospace Academy will also be implementing a number of new initiatives and programs to better serve its students and customers.
COO of Scandinavian Aerospace Academy, Mubashar Kapur, is confident the academy will attract current and new students with the updated offerings. “We are particular interested in expanding our current Boeing 737 course with offerings of Airbus 320 and Boeing 787 aircrafts and engage with highly experience airline instructors sharing their wealth of experience with the school’s students.”

The new offerings will also include expanded course offerings like private and commercial Helicopter pilot training, state-of-the-art facilities with Airbus H125-FTD Level 3 – VR simulators and other equipment, and enhanced student support services. This comes in addition to the current facilities with CAE simulatorer.
Stoflight Academy will continue to operate as usual during the transition period, and all current students and staff will be unaffected by the change in ownership. The company’s new website, scandinavianaerospaceacademy.com, will be launching in the coming weeks.
“We are confident that Scandinavian Aerospace Academy will continue to be a leader in the field of aviation and aerospace education and training,” Melhus. “We look forward to working with our students, staff, and partners to create an even brighter future for the company.”
